Heiko Maas: Foreign Minister is in corona quarantine

Due to a positive corona test in his environment, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has to go into quarantine.

A member of Heiko Maas' (54) personal protection command tested positive for the corona virus. As the Foreign Office announced on Wednesday (September 23), the Federal Foreign Minister is therefore in quarantine "in accordance with the Infection Protection Act". A first test, which was carried out on Wednesday, was negative.

How long the SPD politician remains in corona quarantine, goes from the official message, which was also published on Twitter, not out. The Foreign Office will now, in cooperation with the public health service, clarify "whether and to what extent other people are affected and what measures may need to be taken". Maas himself has not yet spoken up personally.
