Til Schweiger (60) wants to help Heinz Hoenig (72). The actor is in intensive care due to heart problems. He probably doesn’t have health insurance, which is why the costs of the procedures are not covered. As the “Bild” newspaper reports, Schweiger is planning a donation of 20,000 euros for his companion. “Yes, that’s true. I only heard on Saturday night at a birthday party that he was so sick,” he confirmed to the paper.

Other TV stars also want to provide financial support. Above all, Ralph Siegel (78), whose agency “Siegelring” came up with the appeal for donations for Hoenig. “I obviously support this campaign for our friend Heinz and have already donated a large amount myself. We hope that other people will join us,” he explained. Jan Hofer (74) is said to be among the donors. According to the newspaper, the former “Tagesschau” spokesman is said to have transferred 200 euros for Heinz Hoenig.

Heart surgery was postponed

Heinz Hoenig has been in the intensive care unit of a Berlin hospital since April 30th. His agent confirmed on Friday (May 3) that he needs vital heart surgery. People close to it told RTL that the “Das Boot” star was in a coma. The operation planned for Friday could not take place – Hoenig was said to be too weak.

Lack of insurance after bankruptcy

The operations are said to cost over 90,000 euros. Horrific sums for Hoenig, who is no longer supposed to have health insurance after his personal bankruptcy. Annika Kärsten-Hoenig (39) explained in an interview with RTL, has been lobbying her husband for three years to “get him covered by health insurance. I’ve really tried everything.” In order to take out insurance for him, she was missing an important piece of information.

Heinz Hoenig celebrated his breakthrough in 1981 in “Das Boot”. Over the course of his career, the Bavarian native appeared in over 140 TV and film productions, as well as numerous plays. Next week he was supposed to be on stage for the premiere of Ralph Siegel’s musical “A Little Peace”.

Hoenig was still a candidate in the “jungle camp” in January. After almost two weeks, doctors removed him from the Australian bush as a precautionary measure.
