Heinz Hoenig: The actor and his wife are expecting a baby

Actor Heinz Hoenig (68, "The King of St. Pauli") found love again after the tragic death of his first wife Simone (1960-2012). In March of last year, he married the registered nurse and educator Annika Kärsten (35). In an interview with the magazine "Frau im Spiegel", the mime now reveals a secret: He and his 33-year-old wife are expecting their first child together in early December.

"I could hug the whole world with happiness. I'm so happy," explains the 68-year-old, who doesn't want to know the gender of the child in advance. "I can hardly express my feelings in words." The Hoenig couple went to the gynecologist together: "It is always a miracle to see the little one. Then I am always touched and have to swallow." "The crumb" is currently almost seven centimeters tall and "everything is fine," says the actor, who describes late fatherly happiness as "a great gift".

"Our baby is the crown of our love"

Annika Kärsten-Hoenig remembers the moment when she discovered her pregnancy. "I was positively shocked and overwhelmed with happiness after the pregnancy test. I did it very early in the morning," reports the 35-year-old. She then surprised her husband, who was still asleep at the time, with the great news at the breakfast table! It's like a miracle and everything fits: we love each other, we're married and our baby is the culmination of our love. "

According to the "two aces & one king" actor, the soon growing family is an "absolute dream child". "Something gigantic is coming into our lives again," explains Hoenig, whose grown children Paula (32) and Lucas (30) are "wholeheartedly happy" with their father – without any surprise or questions.

Juane, Annika's 13-year-old daughter, was also happy. "She cried for joy and is already excited to be a big sister soon," says her pregnant mother in an interview, and "my grandmother and grandfather are also thrilled that we are having children."

"Thick fur" against critics

The 68-year-old actor is aware of the fact that his late fatherly joys will cause eyebrows and envy to be raised. "Many will think or maybe say: 'How, you will become a father again at the age of 68?'" He admits. Hoenig says that "the opinion of others is something like piepegal". "I learned to get a thick coat."

The Hoenig couple have already chosen a name for a girl and a boy. However, the decision should not have been easy for the two, because there was no shortage of proposals. "I had about 238 suggestions," recalls Heinz Hoenig in the interview. "Anni a few less." In the end, the expectant parents could have "luckily" agreed.
