The British acting world mourns the loss of Helen McCrory (1968-2021). She died of complications from cancer at the age of 52. Her husband Damian Lewis (50, “Homeland”) gave this on Friday (April 16) in a statement on Twitter known. After a “heroic” fight against cancer, she fell asleep peacefully at home. “She died as she lived – fruitless. God we love her and know how lucky we are to have her in our lives,” wrote Lewis. The couple had been married since 2007, and the marriage resulted in two children.

Helen McCrory was born in London and studied at the University of the Arts in London. The actress with Welsh and Scottish roots initially received minor TV roles before appearing in the film “Interview with a Vampire” (1994). In 2017 she was awarded the title Order of the British Empire (OBE) by the Queen (94).
