Hélène and the boys censored? Why some episodes of the AB series were not broadcast in the 90s

Did you know that episodes of the cult series “Hélène and the boys” had been censored by TF1? We reveal which ones to you here!

Cult series from the 90s, Hélène and the boys was not particularly distinguished by its sulphurous side. But as wise as it was, the program still addressed different social subjects. Which led TF1, the original broadcaster of the sitcom, to censor a few episodes, as Jean-Luc Azoulay revealed in 2021 in the show Do not touch My TV.

Which episodes of Hélène and the boys, this series which inspired Friends, were censored by TF1? According to the big boss of AB Productions, the plot involving Hélène drugged without her knowledge with a space cake was concerned, i.e. six episodes.

“We had a problem, it was that it was a family/youth show, so we could show drugs but it had to be resolved at the end of the episode”explained Jean-Luc Azoulay. “So because it was over multiple episodes, they couldn’t air it for that reason.”

According to Cyril Hanouna, the episode of Hélène and the boys in which the boys want to avenge their friend Taxi, the victim of an attempted rape, was also censored. Ultimately, all the episodes in question will still be visible during rebroadcasts on other channels.

The Mysteries of Love: thunderclap, Philippe Vasseur (José) leaves the series!
