In 2019, Helene Fischer took a break that was extended by Corona. Now she reveals that she was on the verge of burnout at the time.
Pop star Helene Fischer (38) gave a remarkable interview on Swiss television. In the SRF show “Gredig direct”, the singer answered questions from journalist Urs Gredig (52) for around 38 minutes – and gave some remarkable insights into her inner life. In 2019, Fischer took a break that was involuntarily extended by the corona pandemic. Because Fischer spoke of exhaustion and tiredness in an interview with Frank Elstner (80), Gredig wants to know from the singer: “It sounds a bit like burnout …”
Fischer replies openly: “I was probably about to do it, but thank God I got the curve.” It was then that she realized that she was empty. “I’ve always really, really enjoyed working and have worked a lot. At some point you no longer notice that you’re in a tunnel,” says Fischer about her feelings at the time.
Helene Fischer only perceived everything as exhausting
As an artist, she was no longer able to feel emotions and only perceived everything as exhausting. In such moments you have to be honest with yourself, Fischer continues, step on the brakes and be careful not to lose yourself. But since she has a healthy connection to her body and her mind, the latter would then have contacted her.
Fischer cites meditation as one of the recipes for success. In the last ten years she has dealt with and questioned herself a lot. Her environment and her family would also support her: “I’m lucky that I really have a very intact relationship with my family.” In addition, she is surrounded by a “great circle of friends, who are small and nice”. There she is still “stink normal” and they do things together: “You’re crazy, young, stupid, everything that goes with it.” That always brings her back to earth.
