Heli mission – 50-year-old seriously injured during forestry work

On Monday afternoon there was a serious forest accident in Annaberg (Tennengau). A 50-year-old suffered serious injuries to his lower leg.

The man was busy with forestry work together with his wife and two children in Annaberg, not far from the Quechenbergalm, at around 1250 meters. Using a radio-controlled tractor cable winch, the 50-year-old pulled Buchen over steep terrain to the nearby forest road. At around 2:15 p.m., however, a beech tree fell against the worker’s lower leg. The force of the tree seriously injured the 50-year-old’s left lower leg. His wife immediately called the emergency services. After the emergency medical care, the injured person had to be rescued by the rescue helicopter using a rope. He is treated at the Salzburg accident hospital.
