Helicopter missions – winter athletes seriously injured in collisions

Many winter sports enthusiasts took advantage of the bright sunshine on Wednesday for a trip to the ski slopes. Severe ski collisions occurred in Sölden and in the Steinach am Brenner ski area, some of which resulted in serious injuries.

On Wednesday at 11.10 a.m. there was a collision between a 33-year-old German and a 27-year-old Belgian on the Tiefenbach Glacier. The Belgian wanted to cross the runway above the Tiefenbach restaurant and may have overlooked the German, which led to a collision. The 33-year-old German was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to the MedAlp in Sölden after being treated by the piste rescue service 21-year-old German.
