Helicopter operation – tobogganing accident in Tyrol: daughter and father injured

In a tobogganing accident in the Tyrolean community of Pertisau, a father (39) and his daughter (7) went off the track in a curve. Both were injured and the father had to be taken to the hospital by rescue helicopter.

A German (39) rode with his seven-year-old daughter on the Zwölferkopf toboggan run in Pertisau on Saturday around 12.50 p.m. In a curve he was thrown off the track, his daughter fell from the wooden sleigh on the toboggan run, the father drove his sleigh over the edge of the toboggan run and fell about four meters deep into the forest. Father and daughter had to go to the hospital. Both were injured , but while the child was rescued by the Maurach mountain rescue team and brought to the valley using Akja, the father had to be flown to the clinic in Innsbruck using an emergency helicopter. The seven-year-old suffered minor facial injuries and was taken to Schwaz Hospital.
