Hell is Us: Rogue Factor talks about the origin of the game and its ambitions

RogueFactoralready behind Mordheim: City of the Damned and Necromunda: Underhive Warsrecruited Jonathan Jacques-Belletête (Deus Ex) in 2019 to work on his next game, hell is us. A title presented last April and which reappeared at the Nacon Connect 2022 this week.

Jonathan Jacques-Belletête thus explains that hell is us is a mixture of his ideas and those of RogueFactorwith notably immersion in a world full of secrets to explore. Human emotions and their relationships will also be central, with the title taking place during a civil war in a contemporary world, with third-person melee combatagainst fantasy enemies that don’t really look like humans.

On the side of the narration, the civil war and its political, ethnic, historical and religious stakes will be at the center of hell is usplayers will discover calamity, here a very mysterious metaphysical phenomenon. The family will also be of great importance during this civil war, with a hermit hero who finds a semblance of sociability. Jonathan Jacques-Belletete recalls that the game will be non-linear with an open endingletting players explore all of these elements of hell is us as he sees fit and connect the pieces of the puzzle.
