Hellboy: Web of Wyrd takes the roguelite by the horns with a trailer

Hellboy: Web of Wyrd takes the form of a hybrid of third person brawl and roguelite. Armed with his trusty revolver and especially his enormous right hand, the horned hero has all the attributes of an action game protagonist, it is true. The few snippets of gameplay that we can distinguish in the video editing show a fairly light gravity, but above all an aesthetic direction halfway between Dark Horse and Rollerdrome comics.

Whatever happens will be better than the 2019 movie

The original plot of Hellboy: Web of Wyrd can count on the pen of Mike Mignola to correspond to the canons of the franchise. We will head to the Maison aux Papillons, a mansion built in 1962 by the demented occultist Pasquale Deneveaux. A BPRD agent, gone as a scout, is never seen again. So presto, a small rescue team is set up, and off we go. The non-Euclidean bowels of the House are designed to open a gateway to the Wyrd, a parallel dimension sheltering forgotten deities, mystical relics, but above all a primordial evil just waiting to wake up to sow desolation. What beautiful narrative pretexts to dress up the tricks of the roguelite with Hellboy sauce!

Besides the esteemed Mike Mignola, the cast of Hellboy: Web of Wyrd is also distinguished by the posthumous presence of Lance Reddick, official voice actor of our demonic friend. We will be able to enjoy one last time his sublime baritone voice, he who left us last March. He was only 60 years old.

Hellboy: Web of Wyrd to arrive at “Soon” on all platforms.
