The editorial team is in Black Friday fever, but football topics also dominated this week. In France, World Cup opponents use a manipulated universal remote control to switch off the World Cup broadcast in bars. Meanwhile, Apple is considering buying Manchester United. This newsletter, which is only heavily reduced on Black Friday and is otherwise unaffordable, is brought to you on behalf of the entire team by: Mchl (vowels are unfortunately already sold out).

You see the article form of our weekly newsletter Hallo Netzwelt! If you don’t want to miss an issue from now on, just click on the button at the very end of this article.

Black Friday is like Halloween – ten years ago hardly anyone in Germany could do anything with these events. In 2022, the entire editorial team has been crouching over Excel lists, flyers and press releases for days and checking for you whether what the manufacturers are advertising as part of Black Friday is actually cheap. Or a zero number, like many things that are currently being marketed as “super deals” on Amazon.

We are particularly excited about the response to our own Black Friday experiment. From today’s Friday until Monday we’re doing a live shopping event in the best teleshopping style. We show currently reduced products in live images, answer your questions in the chat and have a good time together. Be sure to stop by, you can win lots of prizes!

Apple to buy Manchester United

According to a report in a British newspaper, Apple is said to be considering buying the legendary football club Manchester United. The “Red Devils” are actually for sale because the current owners, a US billionaire family, are no longer interested in support in this form.

If the deal goes through, Manchester United could become the most valuable football club in the world. After all, there is talk that Apple wants to spend around 6.7 billion dollars. Let’s wait and see – there are already voices questioning the veracity of the newspaper report and denying that Apple is interested in “ManU”. And Apple allegedly wanted to buy quite a few things in the past: Tesla, Mercedes … as is well known, nothing came of all of that.

Simply switch off the World Cup – with TV-B-Gone

In France there is currently a special form of protest. Critics of the soccer World Cup in Qatar go from bar to bar in Paris and switch off public World Cup broadcasts with the help of a “pirate remote control”.

One click on the remote control called TV-B-Gone is enough and the television turns off. The bar visitors, who may have made a pilgrimage to the pub because of the live broadcast, shouldn’t like that. But there are alternatives: Did you know that you can even follow the World Cup games in augmented reality with the help of this app?

Bargain vs Wild – the best survival deals for campers

Is anyone here watching the elaborately produced YouTube format 7 vs. Wild? You can think what you want of the makers around the controversial Fritz Meinecke – the series, in which Twitch star Knossi also fights for “survival”, is entertaining in any case.

But that’s just my personal opinion. I like outdoor stuff and everything related to it. tents for example. What’s better than camping? Camping 2.0 – that’s perfectly clear. Here we have presented a compact off-road caravan that unfolds to its full size at the push of a button, with electrical support. Pascal also likes camping (and apparently also 7 vs. Wild) and in his article “Bargain vs. Wild” he presents current deals from the survival sector. And we did some research on the third season of the YouTube hit.

These were other top topics of the week

Black Fool Day

I kept hearing about it, and now I’ve caught someone doing it myself: several weeks before Black Friday week, I ordered new winter gloves online. The price of 25 euros seemed fair to me, so I went for it.

Today, on Black Friday, I received an advertising email from the same provider. In it I was offered the same gloves. I could ONLY save on Black Friday. And lo and behold: The strike price suggested that “my” gloves were only available on Black Friday for 25 euros, while winter gloves would otherwise cost 52.99 euros. Raise the prices shortly before Black Friday and then reduce them sharply – do you also know such cases? Then tell us about it!

The flat joke of the week

Friends of the internet world, the lights are slowly going out at my desk. A large part of the editorial team stays up at least half the night, always looking for Black Friday deals that could be worthwhile for you. This will continue throughout the weekend – after all, Black Friday is followed by Cyber Monday.

I say goodbye to the clean-out weekend, because after a week of discount battles, my desk looks like it’s after a soccer game. Maybe the friendly fans of the Japanese national soccer team will drop by my house to clean up? Bye!

Black Friday has a long, long tradition in Finland.
Every Friday from March to October is Black Friday

There are even more flat jokes at this point on Netzwelt.

A lot of effort goes into this. We look forward to a recommendation!
