Helmut Himmer – “Krone” -hearted man takes the social bus

Only life writes such stories: Helmut Himmer bought a bus years ago at his own expense, with which he takes elderly people to doctors, to the appointment for the corona vaccination, to the hospital or to go shopping. “It’s the best feeling when someone says, I thank you,” says Himmer, who also does all of this out of charity and only in return for voluntary donations. The pensioner pays the maintenance costs for the social bus out of his own pocket. Himmer covers a total of 18,000 kilometers in his bus in and around Kottingbrunn in the Baden district whenever he is needed. “And if God helps me,” says Himmer, “then I will certainly be able to drive for another 10 to 15 years.”
