With the ROG Raikiri Pro, ASUS wants to seduce Xbox and PC gamers. Indeed, this complete high-end controller has a little something more than the others do not have.
Useless, therefore essential?
A flexible, official and unique controller
As part of CES 2023, ASUS came with the ROG Raikiri Pro in its suitcases. Behind this name hides a controller officially designed for Xbox consoles and PC. This has two main specificities compared to the competition and the official Microsoft solution.
The first is that it is compatible with both Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4 GHz wireless and USB-C. This versatility is welcome for use on desktop, laptop, Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. The other eye-catching feature is the tiny 1.3-inch OLED display at the top. This can display different information (battery level, microphone and Bluetooth status, etc.), but also text and animated images. Two buttons above also allow you to change what is displayed or to switch between profiles. However, the battery life is not indicated by ASUS.
Finally, more classic, the ROG Raikiri Pro has four paddles on the back (compared to two for the non-Pro version), and the depth of the triggers can be adjusted. Same goes for button functionality through ASUS’ Armory Crate software. A 3.5 jack is also there to connect a headset. All that’s missing today is a price and a launch date for this controller.
In a climate of economic and energy crisis, the video game industry has been on a roller coaster during the year 2022.
