Henkel ceases operations in Russia

Henkel announced Tuesday that it has decided to cease its commercial activities in Russia, a withdrawal of which the German manufacturer of consumer goods says for the moment that it cannot quantify the financial impact.

In a press release, the Dsseldorf group describes an approach already being implemented, while ensuring that it wants to lead an ‘orderly’ departure.

Henkel says its 2,500 employees in Russia will continue to be employed and paid by the company.

‘Henkel condemns Russia’s war on Ukraine and violence against innocent civilians. Our priority remains to do everything we can to help our colleagues in Ukraine,’ said Carsten Knobel, chairman of the management committee.

The group says it supports its employees and people in Ukraine and neighboring countries through financial donations, as well as food and product donations.
