After speculation about Thomas Gottschalk and Co. Henning Baum was exposed as the Quokka. That's what happened to him with "The Masked Singer".

Not Thomas Gottschalk (70), not Ralf Möller (62) and also not Torsten Sträter (54): The Quokka in the current "The Masked Singer" season was actually the actor Henning Baum (48) – and almost nobody suspected it . In an interview with the news agency spot on news, "The Last Bull" now reports on his experiences from the ProSieben show. He has already identified a personal favorite to win "The Masked Singer".

Mr. Baum, how are you after the show?

Henning Baum: I'm doing very well, actually I'm just a little tired. Of course, after the show yesterday, I was cranky and couldn't fall asleep straight away.

Are you sad about the end of the third round or did it come at the right time for you?

Baum: I would have liked to have continued, I really enjoyed it a lot. This musical work was so interesting for me. I was able to work with very talented professional musicians who know an incredible amount about their profession. Otherwise I don't have such a chance.

How long have you been preparing for "The Masked Singer"?

Baum: I've actually been involved with music every day since the beginning of the year. Voice training every day, I sing every day. That was an extremely complex and exhausting time for me.

Are you known as a hobby singer in your private environment?

Baum: I've always loved singing. But not that way. The song "Insomia" by Faithless was awesome and very difficult for me, because it's spoken vocals and you have to be extremely careful with the beat. This is something completely different from the end of the U2 ballad. That suits me better because I usually just sing unplugged with the guitar.

How did you feel when Ralf Moeller or Thomas Gottschalk were speculating under the Quokka?

Baum: I thought that was very funny. The two are much taller than me and Thomas Gottschalk also has a much brighter voice. Normally nobody would think of comparing me to Thomas Gottschalk. Maybe it amused him as much as it amused me. And I know Ralf Moeller very well, I'll ask him if he laughed like that too.

Fans of the show also found dancing the quokka very cute. How did you come up with these steps?

Baum: The freedom of movement in this costume is incredibly restricted and I actually can't dance at all. So I focused on taking these steps and developed a second gait. The Quokka didn't actually dance at all …

What was the biggest challenge for you on the show?

Baum: The performance is really, really difficult. It's not something I've done with my left hand. The mask and the costume hinder you a lot. It's like someone putting sandbags around your neck and putting on a bobble hat. I had to be very focused and actually wanted to let myself go while singing. This is certainly easier for professional singers.

Do you already have a guess who is among the other costumes?

Tree: I'm not that good at it. But of course I've given my thoughts to myself. I have a guess about the leopard. But the voice is so incredibly professional. And that irritates me.

Who do you think will win the show?

Tree: I think the leopard or the dino. Both vocally are simply outstanding. Yesterday I personally liked the dinosaur best. It's fun and versatile. I think it's great …
