In all likelihood, the actor has decided to deviate from the show from Netflix to reprise his role as Superman in the DC Extended Universe, as recently announced. So it’s Liam Hemsworth – whose career really took off with the trilogy The Hunger Games – who will take over the role for season 4, an announcement which the actor welcomed in his own press release: “As a Witcher fan, I’m over the moon to have the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia” he enthuses. “Henry Cavill has been an amazing Geralt, and I’m honored to have him hand over the reins to me and allow me to take on the blades of the white wolf for the next chapter of his adventure. Henry, I have been a fan of yours for years and have been inspired by what you have brought to this beloved character. I may have big boots to fill, but I’m really excited to step into the world of The Witcher.“
It will always be possible to console ourselves for the departure of Henry Cavill in a few months with the broadcast of his last season as Geralt De Riv, although Netflix has not yet communicated a precise date for its broadcast.
