Henry Cavill (37) made his debut as Superman in "Man of Steel" (2013). But the following films with him as a DC hero, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" (2016) and "Justice League" (2017), received mixed reviews. It seemed like Cavill had to shelve his superhero costume. Now the Brit should slip back into the suit with the red cloak. As reported, among others, the US industry paper "Variety", the actor is supposed to play the role in a new film of the DC Extended Universe.
The new film is not supposed to be a second part of "Man of Steel". Cavill is also not to appear in the DC productions "Wonder Woman 1984" and "Suicide Squad 2". It would be possible to return as Superman for Cavill, who was most recently involved in the fantasy series "The Witcher", among others in the films "Black Adam", "Aquaman 2" or "Shazam! 2". The filming of the blockbusters from the DC universe is all in the pre-production phase.
