Here are the 10 comics nominated for the 2023 Science Fiction Comics Prize


The 2023 winners of the SF Comic Book Prize, of which Numerama is the exclusive partner, have arrived. Here are the works in competition.

French comics shine wonderfully in the science fiction genre. The first edition of the SF Comic Book Prize proved it. In 2023, Numerama will once again join forces with the label and podcast It’s more than sci-fifor a second edition whose selected works are of a very high level.

“ It will be very hard to give a price because the year 2023 was an exceptional year, we find varied stories mixing intimacy, hopepunk, but also space opera as well as very good B series », indicates Lloyd Chéry, the initiator of the Prize. Here are the works nominated, this year 2023.

10 comics in the running for the SF Comics Prize 2023

The 10 comics are:

“ After Yoann Kavege (winner of the 2022 prize), it is Lolita Couturier who is the youngest in this selection with Detour via Epsilon,” notes Lloyd Chéry. “ His work already shines with a certain maturity in its post-apocalyptic story. With Lisa Blumen, they embody this new generation of authors who are no longer afraid of making science fiction. »

This year, there is not only fiction in the running: “ Note that a documentary graphic novel has also slipped into this selection, The Lucas Wars (narrating the misadventures of George Lucas in producing his first Star Wars) proves that science fiction can also be expressed in multiple ways », notes Lloyd Chéry.

In addition to the professional jury (which includes Numerama, but also Livres Hebdo), listeners of the podcast It’s more than sci-fi will be drawn very soon to participate in the two final selections: the finalist titles, then the winner of this 2023 edition.
