Bags under the eyes: these 3 active ingredients are the most effective for removing them

“For puffiness, look for a serum or eye cream with superfoods”, advises the star dermatologist. Among those he recommends, he mentions:

  • caffeine and niacinamide: these 2 different molecules ultimately act in the same way on the eye contour according to the dermatologist. The expert specifies that “these ingredients increase blood circulation”, which is extremely beneficial since bags are generally due to a slowdown in blood circulation which promotes the accumulation of water in the tissues under the eyes. In addition to which, they “reduce inflammation” according to Dr. Dennis Gross, which also prevents swelling around the eye area.
  • retinol : which is known to be one of the most effective anti-aging active ingredients on the market, is also “effective against puffiness” according to the dermatologist, but its mode of action is very different from that of caffeine and niacinamide. As he explains, retinol “thickens the skin by producing collagen, which reduces the degree to which fluid can push the skin outward, as with puffiness”.
