The 2023 life insurance rates have been revealed one by one since the beginning of January. If certain contracts offer very attractive boosted remunerations higher than the 3% of the Livret A, they are unlikely to offer a base rate equal to the savings book preferred by the French. What are these contracts that bring in more than Livret A?
Since February 1, 2023, the Livret A rate has increased to 3% and will remain frozen until January 31, 2025. Good news for savers who should finally benefit from a positive return net of inflation from the second half of 2024. Regarding life insurance, the other flagship investment of the French, the 2023 rates have been falling one by one since the beginning of January. Despite a clear rebound in returns on euro funds, few contracts announced a rate higher than that of the regulated savings account.

France Mutualiste offers a rate of 3.70%
The mutual insurer is the only one offering a higher base rate that of Livret A for the year 2023. In fact, France Mutualiste provides a return of 3.70% net of management fees for all its life insurance contracts, including its flagship Actpargne 2 contract. of 1.59 points, this rate is served to all members without investment conditions in units of account (UC), these investment vehicles riskier than euro funds whose capital is guaranteed. However, social security contributions of 17.2% must be deducted: an operation which increases its rate 3.10% which therefore remains higher than that of Booklet A.
As a reminder, if the Livret A rate rose to 3% on February 1, 2023, it previously stood at 2%. Its average performance therefore reaches 2.92% for the year 2023.
Another player is on par with the Livret A rate: the insurer Garance. The remuneration paid to its policyholders for the past year amounts to 3.5% net of management fees, therefore almost 2.9% once social security contributions have been deducted.

Life insurance Crdit Mutuel, Banque Postale, BNP… Do banks offer the best rates in 2023?
The best returns… on paper
In 2023, three new life insurance contracts were launched. Ampli Mutuelle life assurance in February, Corum Euro Life in July and Placement-direct Euro+ in November. They all had the same stated objective: to beat the Livret A rate. The promise is kept. They respectively serve rates 3.76%, 4.45% And 4.10%. These euro funds are only a few months old at best, and a few weeks at worst. The remuneration is therefore annualized and cannot be reasonably compared to other rates.
