here are the new ceilings for receiving the back-to-school allowance 2023

If you have children in school aged 6 to 18, you may be able to benefit from the 2023 back-to-school allowance. Indeed, the resource ceilings will be raised for the next school year.

Will you be able to receive the back-to-school allowance (ARS) 2023-2024? As a reminder, this aid is paid, mid-August, by the Family Allowance Fund (CAF), depending on the age of your child attending school and allows you to assume the costs linked to each return, in particular for the purchase of stationery. Good news, the resource ceilings have been revised compared to the last academic year, up to 1.6%.

A port ceiling of 25,775 euros

From now on, to receive the New Year’s Allowance, the household’s net income should not exceed 25,775 euros for the first child. This ceiling is increased by 5948 euros per dependent child. Previously, these ceilings were not to exceed 25,370 euros, 31,225 euros for two children, 37,080 euros for three children and 42,935 euros for four children.

The ARS is paid automatically by the CAF, based on the information it has on the composition of your household and your income. At the start of the 2022-2023 school year, its amount was 376.98 euros for a child between 6 and 10 years old; 397.78 euros between 11 years 14 years and 411.56 euros for children aged 15 to 18.

And as the Parliament had voted for a revaluation of 4% of this ARS the families had received a new transfer a few days later, of 15.07 euros, 15.91 euros or 16.46 euros, depending on the age of the children. In August 2022, nearly 3 million families were able to benefit from the back-to-school allowance.
