The dates for sending the energy check for the year 2024 have been revealed by the Minister of the Economy. Here’s when you can expect to receive this aid of up to 277 euros to pay energy bills.
The energy check, aid from the French state intended to assist low-income households in paying their energy expenses, will be distributed in the spring, between April 2 and May 15, 2024. This information was indicated on the Actu.fr website by the Minister of the Economy on March 5. Like every year, this check will benefit around 5.6 million eligible households which represent the lowest 20%. Their reference tax income (RFR) must be less than 11,000 euros per consumption unit.
Like last year, the amount of the check will vary between 48 and 277 euros, depending on the composition of the household and income. This aid, initiated in 2018 and renewed annually, maintains its eligibility criteria compared to the previous year.

A delay for a million beneficiaries
However, an administrative change in 2022 could delay distribution for approximately one million households. The abolition of the housing tax on main residences has made it difficult to identify eligible housing, an essential criterion for the allocation of the energy check.
