After having shone for decades with its instant cameras, Polaroid is entering the audio market. The company has just unveiled its colorful Polaroid P2 and P3 portable speakers.
With their vintage look, the Polaroid P2 and P3 portable speakers are a nod to Polaroid’s main activity, photography. Offered in a series of sparkling colors, with blue, gray, red, yellow and black colors, they are respectively available at prices of 129.99 euros and 189.99 euros for a few days.
For its first models of Polaroid P2 and P3 speakers, the American brand opted for ease of use and lightness.
These two wireless speakers are suitable for both home and mobile use. Thanks to their moderate weight, below 0.7 and 1.5 kg respectively, the Polaroid P2 and P3 speakers can, for example, accompany a break in the garden or in a park, just like a bike ride.
Entering an already vast market, Polaroid sought to stand out by focusing above all on the design of its wireless speakers. A very vintage look embellished with bright and intense colors to bring a Pop touch to its interior. Compact and equipped with a wrist strap and a handle respectively, the Polaroid P2 and P3 speakers can easily be moved from one room to another as the user desires.
Polaroid P2 speaker: the compactness advantage
With its Polaroid P2 speaker, the American company has particularly focused on the portable nature of its wireless speaker. As such, it measures only 22 × 9 × 5 cm, for a featherweight of 660 grams.
To transport it more easily, the Polaroid P2 speaker comes with a wrist strap. It then attaches to the wrist, belt or even a backpack during trips outside. This retractable cord also knows how to be discreet when the speaker finds its place at home.
The Polaroid P2 speaker propels sound to a maximum power of 20 Watts. The manufacturer also makes it possible to couple two speakers in order to obtain stereo sound and increased volume.
This new Bluetooth speaker is announced with an autonomy of 15 hours in audio playback. It is enabled by a 2500 mAh battery, compatible with USB Type-C charging. Polaroid has also integrated a small LED screen to check the battery life.
Polaroid P3 speaker: the vintage par excellence
The design of the Polaroid P3 speaker is even sleeker than that of the P2. It is reminiscent of the “boombox” designs of the 80s with its two large colored speakers and especially its polished metal handle placed on the upper part of the enclosure. What to move in music and in style.
If the American brand has taken the design of the good old speakers of the 80s for its Polaroid P3 speaker, the company has nevertheless taken the time to lighten its portable speaker. This one turns out to be relatively light and compact since it measures 30 × 14 × 7 cm for a weight of 1.48 kg.
Like the Polaroid P2 speaker, the Polaroid P3 speaker hosts an LED screen in its center, surrounded by two speakers responsible for delivering sound up to 35 Watts. For stereo sound or for more intense music, the Polaroid P3 speaker can also be associated with a second speaker from the brand.
Equipped with a large 4000 mAh battery, it displays, like the P2, an average of 15 hours of battery life. Enough to last all day or all night on a full charge.
Polaroid Music: an app to personalize your speaker
The Polaroid P2 and P3 speakers don’t come alone. They are accompanied by a companion application, called Polaroid Music, available on Android, as well as on iOS.
After pairing, it allows you to configure the buttons on the speakers in order to change music, select your favorite playlists, or even launch an online radio without having to take out your smartphone.
In addition, the application provides 5 online radio stations, free and devoid of advertising. Various musical styles are then offered, such as R&B, electro, rock, pop, or even jazz.
