Two banks are closing their doors in 2024: the online bank Orange Bank and HSBC. If for Orange Bank, discussions are still ongoing regarding the terms of transfer to Hello bank!, HSBC customers will be transferred to Crdit Commercial de France (CCF) from January 1.

The end of Orange Bank in 2024
Last June, Orange Bank officially announced the definitive withdrawal of the brand. Launched in 2017, the telephone operator’s online banking will disappear. It is to Hello Bank!, the BNP online bank that customers will certainly be attracted to with very attractive welcome bonuses. But the transfer will not happen automatically. Customers who wish to switch to Hello Bank! will have to make their request for opening.
Closure of Orange Bank: what awaits the 800,000 customers
No official closing date for banking services has yet been announced. Orange and BNP Paribas are in discussions to be able to ultimately offer you a dedicated offer, course and support conditions, the online bank specifies on its website.
The end of HSBC and the creation of a new bank
From January 1, 2024, HSBC will cease its personal banking activities in France. My Money Group, under the Crdit Commercial de France (CCF) brand, will take over banking products and services for the approximately 800,000 customers concerned. On the other hand, no change for customers who have life insurance with HSBC. The bank remains the manager and distributor of the contracts. If you make payments on your life insurance via an account held at HSBC, the payments will now be made via the CCF bank account.
The end of Ma French Bank
In a press release published this Wednesday, December 20, La Banque Postale announced that it was studying a plan to cease the activities of Ma French Bank. The online bank claimed at the end of June 2023, 675,000 customers. The cessation of activity project will extend over 1 year or 18 months.
La Banque Postale is not currently ruling out the sale of the customer portfolio to a possible buyer, according to information from AFP. In all cases, La Banque Postale has undertaken to offer all customers of Ma French Bank the possibility of opening an account within it, with access to its physical network with its 7,000 post offices and the services of a traditional bank.
