Tesla usually rolls out a big update at the end of the year. Here is an overview of what’s new in the end of 2023 update.
We know that Tesla updates the software of its cars very often, even though the brand was one of the first to adopt remote OTA (Over-The-Air) updates. A very practical feature, which allows customers to benefit from numerous improvements and corrections without needing to go to a workshop.
Tesla’s Christmas update (2023.44.25), an annual tradition, promises interesting new features again this year. As a reminder, here are the new features for 2022 and those for 2021, or even those for 2020.
New entertainment features
According to an overview published by Not A Tesla App, one of the main innovations is Apple Podcasts integration. This feature allows users to listen to their favorite podcasts directly in their Tesla, without the need for a third-party application or a Bluetooth connection via smartphone.
At the same time, notable improvements affect on-board entertainment. Apple Arcade, in particular, will benefit from significant updates. Games like Beach Buggy Racing will see the addition of new vehicles and tracks, while Polytopia Diplomacy and Vampire Survivors Chilling will also see changes. Tesla also announces vibration support for PS4, PS5 and Xbox controllers.
For the audiovisual aspect, the Tesla light show is enriched with a new title: The Arrival by Irving Victoria. This promises an immersive and entertaining experience for users.
But also safety and comfort
Navigation is also improved, with the addition of symbols along routes to indicate speed cameras, stop signs and traffic lights. However, these features vary depending on the country and available technologies. In China, for example, drivers already benefit from a real-time traffic light count in certain GPS systems.
In addition, the Tesla mobile application now offers the possibility of planning your trips in advance, thus avoiding waiting to be in the vehicle to organize your route. This functionality provides planning comfort and better anticipation of journeys.
Security improvements are not left out. A function automatic blind spot camera, already present on the new models of the Tesla Model 3 restyled via an LED, will appear. It will appear as a red line or shadow on the screen, alerting the driver in real time. You can see how it works in video on X (Twitter).
Finally, several other minor but practical updates complete this update. Among these, we note the introduction of a charging location filter, allowing stations to be selected according to their power (indicated by a system of 1 to 3 flashes, 3 flashes corresponding to a power of more than 70 kW). Additionally, displaying profile pictures in the Spotify and Apple Music apps will now be possible.
