While we know that the third season of the series The Bridgerton Chronicles will focus on the couple formed by Penelope and Colin, the third boy of the siblings, the release on our screens is still pending! While it was initially scheduled for the end of December, the series was postponed without any date having been announced. We finally have the information!
The Bridgerton Chronicles is certainly one of the most popular series on the red N platform, Netflix. While fans are impatiently awaiting season 3 of Shonda Rhimes’ television show, this one is long overdue. Even if the start of 2023 was marked by the release of the spin off, Queen Charlotteviewers will have been waiting for a new season for almost two years (season 2 was released in March 2022).
If the first chapter of the successful series focused on the love affairs of the beautiful Daphnée with the Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset, the second salvo focused on the eldest of the Bridgerton clan, Anthony. Forming a happy and colorful couple with the bubbly Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), all eyes are now on the continuation of the series that fans are impatiently awaiting!

Pénélope and Colin at the heart of the new season
While the third season should have followed Julia Quinn’s initial novels by following Benedict’s romantic adventures, the production decided to turn to another sibling boy, Colin. If his story is normally at the heart of the fourth novel in the saga taking place several years after the marriage of Anthony and Kate, the series has decided to ignore this time jump. The summary tells us that Penelope, very angry with Colin at the end of season 2 of the show, will make the decision to get married. A choice which will not be easy for the young woman, Colin wanting to atone for the comments previously made will then offer her his help to find a husband. An enterprise which will push the young man to question his feelings and to understand that he feels more than simple friendship for Penelope.
The interpreter of the Duke of Hastings, Regé-Jean Page, having confirmed that he would not be present for season 3, his wife Daphné (Phoebe Dynevor) would, according to certain sources, also be absent. Fortunately this is not the case for Kate and Anthony who will be there for the third part as newlyweds.

A release date announced
This Monday, December 11, 2023, the X account (Twitter) of the series revealed in its header the release dates of the new season. If a few hours later the information was removed, it is unlikely that this was an error. We have therefore learned that season 3 will indeed be cut into two parts, the first for broadcast on May 16, 2024 and the second a month later, on June 13, 2024.
If initially a first release date had been announced for the end of 2023, the writers’ and actors’ strike which affected Hollywood and streaming platforms is undoubtedly at the origin of this rescheduling.
