The Thai brand Felo, which belongs to the electric motorcycle specialist Smartech Motor, has unveiled a very large electric motorcycle capable of traveling up to 200 km/h, and above all with a range of more than 700 km.
While the electric two-wheeler market in France is going through a rough patch, on the other side of the planet, certain markets are much more buoyant in this area than here. This is the case of Thailand, which is one of the largest markets in the world in terms of two-wheelers.
And when the Lyon two-wheel show which took place at the beginning of March did not see any big new electric models arrive, in Bangkok, at the International Motor Show which is currently being held, it’s a completely different atmosphere. As evidenced by the presentation of an electric motorcycle which announces astonishing autonomy!
Her name ? The Felo Tooz. Felo is a manufacturer of electric vehicles, one of the brands of the important Smartech Motor consortium which sells mainly in its national market. But how to make yourself known internationally? By presenting something as impressive as the Tooz which, beneath its appearance as the Honda Gold Wing of the future, hides what every electric motorcyclist dreams of: autonomy for travel!
Even optimistic, autonomy is far superior to the competition
Indeed, the Felo Tooz has a huge battery with a capacity of 35 kWh, a voltage of 700 V and 50 Ah. If we don’t know much more about it, it’s enough to give it a maximum range, get this, of 720 kilometers! Yes, then we are talking here about CLTC autonomy, the Chinese approval cycle which, as we know, is rather more optimistic than our dear WLTP. But even by increasing it by 15 to 25%, we would still achieve a range of 540 to 612 km to our standards!
We also learn that the Tooz would be capable of cruising at a speed of 200 km/h, which is also not the kind of figures that we often come across on an electric motorcycle. Or on the top of the range Zero Motorcycles, like the SR/F and SR/S. And for recharging? Here too Felo has thought of everything with a Type 2 socket which would allow you to recover from 20 to 80% in just 20 minutes. And while we’re at it, why not integrate V2L technology, which allows the motorcycle to recharge objects by plugging it in.
It’s for when ?
Obviously such a behemoth is very well equipped. On the menu, a large 12-inch TFT screen, a 6-channel audio system, a 360° camera system to help with maneuvers… And there is even an 8-liter refrigerated storage space!
For the moment we do not have much more information on this Felo Tooz which is before a technological showcase for the brand and the Smartech group, but nothing says when the motorcycle will be marketed. Nor if it will be marketed at all! In any case, the bet paid off: she managed to travel around the media world. For the world tour, thanks to its crazy autonomy, it’s yet another matter…
