At Stellantis, it’s time for the massive electrification of all its brands. Its Dare Forward 2030 plan, just presented, aims in particular to reduce its emissions by 50% by the end of the decade, before reaching zero carbon emissions by 2038. And to do this, the group has no other choices than going 100% electric.
Its Jeep brand will therefore naturally offer the very first electric car in its history, as revealed in an official press release. Its marketing date is even known: 2023. However, no technical specifications have been revealed by the car manufacturer.
Towards a compact SUV
On the other hand, everything suggests that this Jeep will be based on the CMP modular platform, also used by the Peugeot e-208, Peugeot e-2008, DS3 Crossback E-Tense and Citroën ë-C4. This platform is particularly focused on segment B (city cars) and C (compact) vehicles.

An all-wheel-drive version?
Technically, the CMP platform is normally confined to a so-called traction transmission, with a motor at the front. But it is rumored that modifications could be made to implement all-wheel drive to the electric Jeep, which in this case would benefit from better traction and grip.
