From August 1st, the end of the automatic printing of your receipts comes into effect. But behind this principle there are exceptions. Indeed, purchases of so-called durable goods where the existence and duration of the legal guarantee of conformity are mentioned are not affected by this new measure.
The deadline is fast approaching. As of August 1, the receipt will no longer be printed automatically. The main objective of this measure is to combat the waste caused by the printing of 30 billion receipts each year.
This new rule notably affects receipts, credit card transaction receipts as well as purchase vouchers and promotional or reduction receipts.
The receipt can always claim you
Despite everything, the consumer will always have the possibility of claiming the physical receipt from the merchant. He can also request a dematerialized ticket available via SMS, email or QR code.

- computer equipment;
- consumer electronics products;
- telephone sets;
- cameras;
- appliances, equipped with an electric or thermal motor, intended for DIY or gardening;
- games and toys, including video game consoles;
- sporting goods;
- watches and timepieces;
- lighting articles and fixtures;
- sun protection glasses;
- furnishing items.
