We expected something else, for example the expected restyling of the Model 3, possibly the presentation of a new, more compact car (the Model 2 or Model A). But no: it will be necessary to be satisfied with this micro detail on the future terminals of the Tesla network, which will first be installed in Europe.

A longer cable for more practicality

The new Superchargers will therefore be upgraded to the fourth generation in the coming weeks and months. No technical details were provided (what charging power?), but Tesla still allowed itself to indicate that the cable connecting the terminal to the car socket will be longer.

The reason for this change is attributed to the fact that Superchargers are now open to all 100% electric cars. This is the argument put forward by Frandroid, which recalls that current Superchargers, equipped with a short cable, were first designed for cars assembled by Tesla. The hatch is actually placed at the rear, on the left – which is not the case with all vehicles on the market. A longer cable would then allow as many drivers as possible to use a Supercharger without having to park haphazardly or use a terminal that is not intended for its location.
