here is the proof with these two future models

A little behind on electric cars, Honda is now determined to catch up. The Japanese manufacturer is taking advantage of CES in Las Vegas to unveil two concept cars announcing its vision of the zero-emission (exhaust) car in the future. How to compete with Tesla?

From 2035, all manufacturers selling cars in Europe will have to go electric, obligatory and non-negotiable. While this shouldn’t pose too much of a problem for some, like Volkswagen or Renault, some brands are still a little behind.

A promising sedan

This is for example the case of Honda, which is lagging slightly behind some of its competitors. The firm did have its Honda e, but the latter saw its marketing end, while sales were quite disappointing. Today, the Japanese firm offers its e:Ny1, a family SUV, and that’s it. Let his fans rest assured: it shouldn’t last forever like this, quite the contrary.

Because the manufacturer has very big ambitions for the future and intends to take its revenge. This is how he took advantage of CES in Las Vegas, which is currently being held, to say a little more about his future plans. In a communicatedthe firm announces the creation of the family of electric cars called 0 Serieswhich will officially see the light of day from 2026. Two models have already been announced through very promising concept cars.

The first takes the form ofa large electric sedan, which is obviously aimed at Tesla – probably the Model S, even if the exact dimensions have not been revealed. Baptized Honda 0 Series Saloon Concept, the latter displays very futuristic lines, but which seem to be inspired by cars from the 80s, particularly at the front. We discover fine LED optics and a grille which also seems to sport a screen.

In profile, this new creation is intended to be very low and displays a sporty silhouette in order to obtain aerodynamics (and therefore autonomy) at the best level. However, Honda really wanted to make it very livable. The sedan thus inaugurates the concept of space utilization M/M (maximum man/minimum machine)which consists of offering a larger interior space than what the exterior of the car suggests.

A flagship

But that’s not all, because this concept car, which should indeed see the light of day in the form of a production vehicle, also wants to emphasize driving pleasure. It benefits from electronic steering steer-by-wire, like the Tesla Cybertruck, and optimized movement management. What can we hope to compete with Toyota and its fake manual gearbox in this area? Without a doubt. However, you will have to wait before discovering its engine.

The latter will in any case use numerous technologies, since Honda announces the use of artificial intelligence in its next electric cars. These will also be equipped with autonomous driving, without the manufacturer giving us any further details at the moment. However, we know that the brand’s cars will have the right to high density batteries with a charging time of just 10-15 minutes.

A second concept, called Space-Hub, was also unveiled at the American show. The latter takes the form of an electric van, which could compete with the Zeekr 009 and other Denza D9s, which we recently had or discovered. It should also inherit the same technological advances as the sedan. Among them, the use of a battery whose degradation is slowed down, losing only 10% after ten years. Which would be better than Tesla.

Future cars derived from these concept cars will feature a new logo, simplified and more rounded than that currently used by the manufacturer. Enough to show the great ambitions of the manufacturer, which intends not to let itself be faced with the arrival of Chinese manufacturers on the market.
