Here it all begins: major departures, the double marriage, the train accident… The most notable moments of 2023

As 2024 dawns, we take a look back at the strongest “Here it all begins” storylines of the past year…

In 2023, the intrigues of Here it all begins (the daily fiction is broadcast on TF1 from Monday to Friday, from 6:30 p.m.) were more rich in twists and turns than ever! AlloCiné draws up below its assessment of the most significant arches of the soap opera over the last twelve months…

Departures

Capture TF1

The year 2023/2024 of Here it all begins was marked by the successive releases of pillars of the series. Mikaël Mittelstadt (Greg), Nicolas Anselmo (Eliott), Fabian Wolfrom (Louis), Pola Petrenko (Charlène), Thomas Da Costa (Axel), Khaled Alouach (Théo), Claire Romain (Ambre) and Agustin Galiana (Lisandro) have in fact everyone made the decision to move away from the Auguste Armand Institute.

These important departures were all skillfully carried out and offered viewers lovely moments of emotion. In addition, the door remained open for possible returns… In the meantime, this void left allows the new guys to establish themselves in the hearts of fans. But will they be able to be worthy of their elders?

The new ones

Capture TF1

A whole slew of new recruits joined the ranks of the Auguste Armand Institute at the start of the September school year. Each of them was also “sponsored” in a plot by an elder in order to promote their integration: Léonard and Maya through Salomé, Malik through Ambre, Jim and Thibault through Jasmine (and their father Marc Leroy through through Teyssier!), Carla through Rose, Souleymane through Antoine, Bérénice through Constance and Pénélope through Joachim.

In a short time, these colorful protagonists found their place on screen thanks to strong narrative arcs. These good foundations still deserve developments (in different directions with great potential) and we are already curious to discover them!

The train accident

Fabien MALOT / ITC / TF1

For its annual disaster plot, ITC has – literally – gone off the beaten track by involving several heroes in a terrible train accident! Wounded, missing, romances… This arch proposed at the start of summer had the merit of surprising and reshuffling the cards for the rest of the series. Furthermore, this extremely serious incident was not without consequences for the victims… A drama like we love in a soap opera in short!

Axel

Capture TF1

What a busy year for Axel (Thomas Da Costa)! Maxime’s worthy heir (Clément Rémiens, of whom we think a little, sometimes…) had his work cut out for him between his relationship with Jasmine, the train accident and even the discovery of his kinship with the Armands.

Alas, the interpreter of the (second) (hidden) son of Auguste chose to leave fiction to everyone’s surprise… Sympathetic, amusing, always very invested in the dramas of the Institute and pleasant to watch, the character We will miss Axel.

The double marriage

Fabien MALOT / ITC / TF1

To mark the final departure of Greg (Mikaël Mittelstadt) and Eliott (Nicolas Anselmo), what could be better than attending their wedding as the end of their love story? After a lot of insurmountable challenges… to overcome, Greliott managed to put the ring on their finger to set off in peace towards new culinary adventures together. An inevitable happy ending but oh so much appreciated!

The icing on the (wedding, therefore) cake, Hortense (Catherine Davydzenka) and Mehdi (Marvin Pellegrino) also went to the altar at the same time. A nice way to end the friendship between the young woman and Eliott, united like two fingers of a hand until the end. Finally, special mention to Mikaël Mittelstadt to whom the kilt fits like a glove!

Claire’s burnout

Capture TF1

Thanks to this plot, fans of Here it all begins were able to discover Claire (Catherine Marchal) vulnerable and fragile, unlike the confident and accomplished woman she usually is. Chef Guinot’s burnout highlighted the real overwork and pressure sometimes experienced by culinary professionals. This arch also allowed us to see a softer side of Louis towards his dear mother.

Love triangles

Capture TF1

What would Here It All Begins be without its love triangles? Between Anaïs, Lisandro and Théo, Gaëtan, Salomé and Thomas or Ethan, Maya and Léonard, the waltz of feelings has indeed taken place! Breakups, reconciliations, temptations and new perspectives, our lovers have often been upset… And we want more!

The unexpected return of Francis Huster

Fabien MALOT / ITC / TF1

Present within the cast at the start of Here it all begins, Francis Huster (whose character, Auguste, died) made an unexpected return to the series. Through flashbacks, ancient secrets were discovered and the heirs of Chief Armand had a field day tearing each other apart.

Reproaches, accusations, jealousies… The siblings had infinite potential to offer us other memorable settling of scores! Unfortunately, the exits of Fabian Wolfrom and Thomas Da Costa broke this dynamic… Fortunately, we can always count on the Teyssiers to take care of family quarrels (even without Charlène and Théo)!

Rose’s surprise motherhood

Capture TF1

Here’s a revelation that no one expected: Rose (Vanessa Demouy) is the biological mother of Carla (Aaricia Lemaire)! Having given up on motherhood for a long time, Clotilde’s sister nevertheless had a shock when she realized that the stillborn child to whom she once gave birth is in fact very much alive… And that this is therefore the first year.

Despite a joyous reunion, the young woman subsequently distanced herself a little… But after the loss of her baby, Carla appreciates the support of her parent. Will this new year allow them to forge a real mother-daughter bond over time?

Hippolyte’s influence on David

Capture TF1

During this strong storyline, viewers had the opportunity to finally see David (Liam Hellmann) differently than as a seducer and a nonchalant young man. The severity and cruelty of Hippolyte (Tom Novembre) towards David were painful to watch (the slaps!) but necessary to denounce and understand the phenomenon of control. And to solidify the protagonist’s relationship with Deva (Kathy Packianathan), too.
