Here it all begins: the person responsible for the explosion at the Institute confesses to Kelly

This week in Here it all begins, the third year student gets the end of the story about the explosion at the Institute. The truth is, however, difficult to hear, especially since it puts her in a more than uncomfortable position.

Warning, this article contains spoilers about the sequel to Here It All Begins.

Kelly can’t believe it. This is what we see in the unpublished extract from the episode of Here it all begins from this Thursday, December 14revealed in advance by TF1.

Kelly confronts her father

Indeed, in this scene, Thomas Lacroix (Ifig Brouard) finds Kelly (Axelle Dodier), who had asked him to meet her at the village bar. Right away, the third year student informs him that she knows about his money problems. The Institute’s baking professor initially pretends not to understand what she is talking to him about. Kelly is, therefore, more explicit and tells him that the day before, she searched his car, which allowed him to get his hands on a formal notice from a bailiff and papers from his bank which alerted him about the fact that he is drowning in debt.

Kelly’s father’s face falls. He then explains to her that if he didn’t tell her anything, it’s because he was afraid of disappointing her. But when Kelly asks him if there isn’t another reason that could have pushed him to deactivate the alarm on the Atelier’s oven, Thomas Lacroix, who no longer dares to look his daughter in the eyes, remains silent. The young woman then understands that it is indeed he who is behind the explosion at the Institute.

Thomas Lacroix wanted to repay his debts thanks to an insurance scam

Tears well up in Kelly’s eyes. She wonders if he did it with the desire to attack Thibault (Félix Pacaut), or with the aim of ending his life. Thomas Lacroix tries to reassure her: he simply wanted to injure his hands, which were insured, so that he could receive insurance money, and thus have enough to repay all of his debts. His plan was, during the first-year exam, to start a fire and burn his hands trying to put it out.

Kelly is shocked. The young woman is annoyed by the irresponsibility of her father, who was ready to put his students in danger for money. Thomas Lacroix, who obviously still seems to think that his plan worked, assures him that he would never have carried it out if he had anticipated the fact that someone might want to use the oven before the test. Kelly’s father then asks her not to tell anyone about it.

So, will Kelly manage to keep such a big secret to herself? Will she let her mother Lætitia (Florence Coste) know? The answer in Here it all begins, Monday to Friday at 6:30 p.m. on TF1!
