Monday, December 19 in Here it all begins…
Hortense is sad that Eliott no longer has a project when all his friends are involved in the Christmas brigade. Jude then proposes to Eliott to use a cargo bike rather than a food truck to realize his dream. He is ready to look if there are dealers in the area. Very touched by this attention, Eliott accepts. At the same time, he receives a message from Greg, who asks him to see him urgently.
Greg takes Eliott to Les Marais blindfolded, before revealing the food truck he bought for him. When he wants to hand over the keys to her, he nevertheless comes up against the refusal of his ex. Indeed, Eliott feels that it is much more than a gift and that he does not want to feel indebted. He immediately turns on his heels.
In the kitchen, Greg is execrable towards all the members of his brigade. His father, who had come to test his Christmas starter, noticed him quickly. He takes his son aside and urges him to pull himself together because their Christmas menu should be ready on Friday. He asks Greg to bring him a worthy entree for the evening.
During their lunch break, Hortense and Lionel complain about Greg’s behavior to Eliott. The latter apologizes to them because he guesses that Greg takes his nerves on them because of him. To make up for it, Lionel suggests that he return to his position as second in the Christmas brigade. Only he is able to channel Greg. Otherwise, Lionel fears that his friend will go straight into the wall and that his father will decide to take away the Christmas menu.
Eliott agrees to join Greg’s squad as second in command, but makes sure there is no ambiguity. He cheers her up about the starter, offering to cut some foie gras into a cutlet and smoke it. Shortly after, Benoît comes to taste their starter. He validates it immediately, while advising them to deglaze with sherry rather than balsamic vinegar. Chef Delobel takes the opportunity to make sure that Greg and Eliott will not have a domestic scene for the next two weeks. While Greg affirms that they will manage without problem, Eliott, ill at ease, finds an excuse to slip away.
He goes to the pantry to find some sherry. Jude joins him there, announcing that he has found a cargo bike dealer. Eliott informs him that he is going to drop this idea in favor of the Christmas brigade, regretting not having warned him sooner. He adds that he cleared things up with Greg. Jude is very understanding. Eliott ends up kissing her.
At the end of the day, Greg tastes their entree again which they have rebalanced with sherry. According to him, everything is perfect. Eliott is delighted, but he wants Greg to tell his parents about their breakup. However, the latter cannot resolve it. He asks Eliott to make them believe that they are together until they leave…
Thomas and his students got up at 4 a.m. to prepare all the pastries for the opening of their pop-up shop. Thomas goes to see Salomé, who fears Laetitia’s arrival at the shop. Thomas is reassuring and confident: he thinks that Laetitia feels more nostalgic than real feelings towards him. He is ready to tell her about his relationship with Salomé in due time, certain that Laetitia will end up accepting it.
The store is a real success. As agreed, Laetitia goes to see Thomas to congratulate him. While the latter returns to work, Laetitia admits to Salomé that she cannot get him out of her head.
During service at Double A, Lisandro warns chef Theo that customers are canceling their dessert order in favor of the pop-up shop. Contemptuous, Theo comes directly to complain to the competition. Thomas reminds him that his shop will close in two weeks and that it is not intentional on his part.
Teyssier, who is delighted with the success of the shop, advises Thomas to ignore Theo. He offered her a permanent professorship at the Institute. Thomas has until the next day to reflect and give him his answer.
Amber finds Deva in the park of the Institute and hears from her. If Deva expresses her sadness about her breakup with Souleymane, Amber suspects her of being in denial about her attraction to David. At the same time, Deva receives a message from the chef Listrac who arranges to meet her students in the vegetable garden.
On site, the chef organizes a guided tour with Souleymane to teach students the techniques of permaculture and introduce them to seasonal vegetables. David can’t help but make disparaging remarks. As the students go to the greenhouse, Deva takes the opportunity to approach Souleymane. But the latter declares that everything is well and truly over. He asks her to stay away from him. David, a little behind, hears their conversation.
Coming home from class, Deva finds a stuffed animal hanging from her locker with a message telling her to press her stomach. When she does, an audio message from David plays. The latter invites him to join him at the bar to clear his mind. Deva retorts that she doesn’t want to, but Amber suggests she go. Tom is surprised that Amber is playing matchmaker. The young girl explains that Deva needs to indulge herself.
Eventually, Deva joins David at the bar. He admits having overheard his conversation with Souleymane in the vegetable garden. Deva claims that her ex is wrong and that he is making excuses because she is not attracted to David at all. The latter orders shots to change his mind. Each time they drink it, they cite a constraining aspect of married life. Deva gets caught up in the game.
