Since its launch, the Nintendo Switch has been weak on its joy-cons.

These can be affected by a malfunction called “ drifting “. But the following should please you.

Nintendo: the “joy-con drift” again and again

Launched in March 2017, the Nintendo Switch will soon celebrate its 6e birthday (yes, already). Despite many qualities, the Nintendo console however accuses, in some players, a rather annoying malfunction, the fault of abnormal wear on the analog sticks.

Indeed, some controllers suffer from “joy-con drift”, i.e. erroneous data sent to the analog stick, which can alter the gaming experience, with for example a character who will move forward on his own, despite a stick in neutral position. . If the “drift” syndrome is slightly less present on the latest generations of Switch, the latter is still not a thing of the past.

A miracle solution at Gulikit?

At least that’s the case with the official Nintendo joy-cons. For its part, the manufacturer Gulikit now offers a “spare kit” for Nintendo Switch. ” The Gulikit joystick solves the problems of wear, loss of control, insensitivity and drift of the analog joystick “, promises the props man.

For this, the joysticks use electromagnetic technology, without the slightest friction (as is the case with Nintendo’s joy-cons). This avoids the physical contacts that cause these drifts. This technology resembles that used by SEGA a few years ago, especially for its Dreamcast controller.

These sticks are also intended to consume less energy than the official joy-cons (160 uA against 390), which is enough to significantly improve the autonomy of the console, according to Gulikit.

Displayed at just over thirty euros, the proposed replacement pack has some drawbacks, however. Not only will you have to know how to be a minimum handyman to disassemble your console and install the new sticks, but this will also have the effect of voiding the Nintendo warranty. It’s up to you, then.
