here’s when the Mac mouse, keyboard and trackpad could finally move to USB-C

This was one of our big regrets when the new MacBook M3 and iMac M3 were announced: Apple did not take advantage of this renewal of the range to finally make the transition on its latest peripherals to all USB-C, here its Magic Mouse, its Magic Keyboard and its Magic Trackpad touchpad.

Especially since the manufacturer did not fail to present the latest version of its Apple Pencil stylus, this time integrating a USB-C port, thus following its iPhone 15 and 15 Pro, but also its latest AirPods Pro 2.

In short, we were wondering when Apple will decide to replace the Lightning port on these accessories, and it seems that we have the beginnings of an answer.

A transition planned for spring?

It is the specialized site MacRumors which relays the information which comes to us from the user Instant Digital of the Chinese social network Weibo. The rumor speaks of a renewal planned for spring 2024, from March therefore, for all Mac accessories.

It is during this period that Apple plans to unveil new iPads with Oled screens as well as new Macs. This would therefore be the ideal opportunity to announce such a transition.

It remains to be seen whether this will be the only change for these devices. Like many other users, we would really like Apple to review the positioning of the charging port on its Magic Mouse, which simply prevents it from being used when it runs out of battery.
