FC Bayern very close to a bargain with Kane’s friend Dier

Good news for all FC Bayern Munich fans. The first transfer of the winter has already arrived in Munich. However, because the record champions missed out on a player at the last moment last summer, coach Tuchel is still holding back. More players are to come.
FC Bayern is about to sign English international soccer player Eric Dier from Tottenham Hotspur. “He is in Munich,” said coach Thomas Tuchel and confirmed: “We are trying to sign him, finalize the deal and get another alternative for our squad.”
According to media reports, the 29-year-old defender Dier, whose contract with Spurs runs until the end of the season, will cost four million euros and will be signed until 2025 with an option for another season. “FC Bayern is a wonderful club,” he said upon his arrival at Sky.
Further transfers are being planned
However, in reference to the signing of Portuguese midfielder Palhinha (Fulham FC) that fell through in the summer, Tuchel said with a smile: “We know from experience that things can go wrong even at the last moment…”
The obligatory medical check was still pending. Tuchel sees the defensively versatile Dier, who played with Bayern superstar Harry Kane at Tottenham, as a “specialist in the central defender position”, where he can play on the left or right as well as in a three-man chain. “First and foremost, this will free Leon Goretzka for midfield,” said Tuchel about the national player, who had recently had to help out at the back several times.
Dier took part in the 2016 European Championships and the 2018 and 2022 World Cups with England. In Qatar he played the last of his 49 international matches (three goals). He also lost his regular place at Spurs; by the turn of the year he had only made four league appearances this season. FC Bayern has not stopped its transfer efforts with Dier. “Otherwise the same positions remain in focus,” said Tuchel.
