HeuART-Festival – hay works of art moved through the Lammertal

The Lammertal celebrated its HeuART festival again on Sunday: meters high works of art moved through the streets of Rußbach. Among others, Pippi Longstocking and Irish goblins were there. But a Lammertalerin was also lovingly recreated.

Every year the famous HeuART festival takes place in a Lammertal community. About 20 wagons pulled through the Tennengau municipality of Rußbach on Sunday. In addition to figures from children’s books and animals, churches and flowers made of hay were enthroned on it. It all started in 2001 with Anita Hölll. The chairman of the association was lovingly building small figures out of hay when the head of tourism at the time approached her and suggested the idea of a festival. Since then, the festival has been the attraction of the year for the Lammertal, attracting many guests from home and abroad. To honor Höll, who is now resigning from the office of chairwoman, the people of Lammertal built her person this year.
