Did you know that the Nintendo Switch can act as a remote control or how to quickly find lost Joy Cons? We introduce you to five cool features hidden in the console.
The Nintendo Switch is one of the most popular consoles in the world. Due to its design and software, the Switch can do much more than just play games. If you just got your Nintendo Switch, you absolutely have to try these 5 features, but even for experienced gamers there may be one or two tips that you don’t know yet.
Saving multiple saves: Here’s how
If friends or siblings want to try out your favorite game, or if you accidentally deleted your saved game, it can be helpful to have several saved games. To do this, you simply have to create additional user profiles under which you can then call up the respective game. Click on any game, before it starts, you will be prompted to select a user, now click on the plus and create a new profile. Now you can save multiple games.
Remote control superfluous: Operate the television with the Switch
With this function, the power status of the console is transmitted to the TV. This means that the TV is switched on as soon as the console is switched on. Transmission takes place via the HDMI input, making the TV remote control unnecessary. Not all TV models support this function. Would you like to disable this feature or check the status? Open System Preferences and go to TV Playback. Locate the “Adapt to TV power status” option. Now you can easily customize the option as you like.
For more gaming fun: connect the keyboard to the console
In some games, such as Fortnite, precise control is important. But even in the YouTube app, it can be cumbersome to enter the letters via the controller. There is a very simple solution. If the Nintendo Switch is in dock mode, you can connect a keyboard to the dock via USB port. If you now open a text screen, you can enter data using the additional keyboard.
Joy Cons as a controller for computer games
Would you also like to use the Joy Cons to control your favorite PC games? No problem. To do this, simply go to the respective Bluetooth settings of your operating system. Detach the Joy Cons from the screen and hold down the small button on the side where they normally rest on the console. Now the controllers are in paring mode and you can connect your PC to them.
Since Apple computers only allow one Joy-Con to be paired at a time, consider investing in a Pro Controller. You can also simply connect it to the computer via Bluetooth.

Lost Joy-Con? So you can easily find him again
The small controller can quickly disappear into the sofa crack or under the covers. Nintendo offers a feature that makes it easy for you to find the Joy Cons. To do this, go to “Controllers” in the main menu and then click on “Search for controllers”. If you now click on the lost Joy Con, it vibrates and is therefore easy to find.
