Of the motherboards with ever less visible cables, but on condition of having a compatible case. Obviously.

Last week, we mentioned the case of the TUF Gaming B760M-BTF, a motherboard from ASUS whose particularity is to have most of its connectors on the rear side.

ASUS “rolls for” Intel, MSI for AMD

To make a sort of parallel, we then mentioned Gigabyte’s Project Stealth, but we should not forget another of the main players in the motherboard market, MSI.

The company based in Chungho, Taiwan, actually has a very similar project with the B650 DIY-APE motherboards. Unlike ASUS, however, MSI has not yet officially presented its products, and if we have information today, it is thanks to a few leaks. These evoke not one, but two models of motherboards to be linked to the DIY-APE concept and based on the AMD B650 chipset. These models would even have already entered a qualification phase.

Two motherboards in the works at MSI

This stage of qualification confirms that the project is well advanced at MSI, but does not however give any information on a more or less distant marketing. MSI might as well cancel the whole thing.

The DIY-APE concept is in any case based on the same objective as at ASUS or Gigabyte, namely bringing as many cables as possible to the back of the motherboard in order to free up the “visible” part as much as possible, not the iceberg, but from the PC configuration.

On the few shots relayed by TechPowerUp, we can thus discover a completely “cleaned” motherboard. More interestingly, the source of our colleague was able to take some shots of compatible boxes, including one that clearly came out of the ASUS laboratories.
