It’s official, Kojima is working on a new project in partnership with Xbox! Last Sunday, during the Xbox/Bethesda Summer Game Fest conference, Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox Games Studios, announced the big news. However, although the arrival of a new video game production from Kojima has been announced, we still do not know anything about it. There’s no release window, plot details, or even universe details. All that is known is that the game will undoubtedly be an Xbox exclusive. But then, what does this production represent for the industry and above all, for PlayStation gamers?
A whole new project
Kojima said during the Xbox/Bethesda conference that this project would be “a whole new game”something he “always wanted to achieve”. A completely new video game project therefore, far from everything he has been able to create so far.
PlayStation players on the sidelines?
In the past, Kojima had rather worked with PlayStation in the realization of his projects, such as Death Stranding for example. Although this collaboration between Xbox and Kojima has been formalized, that doesn’t mean the director won’t be working with PlayStation at all anymore. Certainly, Sony players will not have access to the production discussed during the Xbox conference, but the (many) future projects of Kojima will not be exclusive to the Microsoft console.

Last April, Hideo Kojima tweeted an image that appeared to have been taken at PlayStation studios. Nothing had been confirmed by the Japanese director, but this photo could be a clue, posted deliberately.
