Hiring: Pôle emploi predicts “a year of all records”


The level of recruitment should reach a high level thanks to the very significant needs of companies.

After an unprecedented year in 2021 in terms of job creation and a decline in unemployment, 2022 could also see very good momentum. The recruitments planned for this year reach “a record high“, according to the annual survey “labor needsfrom Pôle emploi, published on Tuesday.

The study reports 3.046 million hiring projects for 2022, or 323,000 more than last year. This change is explained by a significant increase in the proportion of establishments planning to recruit: 32.8% would want to increase their workforce in 2022, compared to 26.5% in 2021. This real improvement is accompanied by a another positive point: 54.3% of hiring projects are planned on permanent contracts, which represents an increase of 11.5 points, and 70.8% on long-term contracts (permanent contracts or fixed-term contracts of more than six months).

Still, the public operator, having questioned 420,000 establishments between October and December 2021, did not take into account the repercussions…
