On January 30, 2023, almost a year ago, the columnist Kelly Vedovelli made insulting remarks towards Joy Hallyday, then aged 14, on the set of TPMP. During this show, presented by Cyril Hanouna, several images of Laeticia Hallyday’s daughter were broadcast in close-up for long minutes.
Kelly Vedovelli then declared: “For me, it’s the height of vulgarity, So for me, it’s super vulgar, with its tongue, its mouth, its tits (…) Because it’s the new generation, we have the right to be te-pu (Editor’s note: whores, in verlan)?” Words which immediately made Laeticia Hallyday react. In fact, Joy’s mother had sent a “complaint with civil party for public insults” to the Dean of the Investigating Judges of the Paris Judicial Court.

But that’s not all. A report was made to the President of the Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority (Arcom). A year later, Arcom therefore rendered its verdict and judged this sequence “likely to undermine the rights of the young girl, respect for her honor and her reputation”. Faced with the words “particularly violent, crude and derogatory” by Kelly Vedovelli, the channel is therefore fined 50,000 euros.
Arcom also noted that Cyril Hanouna refrained from condemning “explicitly the words”. During this broadcast, he simply reacted by declaring: “I think you’re going a little far. We remind you that (she) is a minor so take it easy, eh, all the same.” For information, TPMP accumulated 7.5 million euros fine for several years now due to frequent slip-ups during the broadcast. As for CNews, the other Bolloré chain, Arcom, fined it 50,000 euros.
