A British mother tells the Daily Mirror how she realized her father was suffering from cancer that kills very quickly.
Arthur Jones, 73, is dead just six weeks after being diagnosed from “cancer that kills the fastest”reports the DailyMirror. Her daughter Sheryll tells the British tabloid how she realized that something going around in circles at father’s. “He loved my roasts but no longer ate them. So I was like ‘something is wrong’ so my dad refused his favorite meal”says the mother. “He was just telling me he didn’t want big meals. He was losing weight and going to the bathroom more frequently”she continues.
The verdict of the doctors was final
The British then struggled to get his dad to see a doctor. “It was a real nightmare to get him into the doctor,” she remembers. The former railway worker waited until the day after his granddaughter Ellie’s 21st birthday, in May 2022, to go to the emergency room and have an MRI. The verdict of the doctors was final. “We detected something on your pancreas”, they said. Two weeks later, after a series of biopsies at the Royal Liverpool Hospital, doctors positively diagnosed Arthur Jones with pancreatic cancer. They gave him three months to live.
At first, Sheryll decided to take care of her father with the help of her brother. For her, it was inconceivable that he could not stay in her house. But towards the end, he started to lose his mind. “He looked at us as if he didn’t know us. He was angry”, she testifies. Arthur Jones was therefore placed in a hospice. Three days later, on June 24, 2022, he died. His son was present at his side when he gave his last breath. Sheryll had just left. It is the tenth most common cancer and the fifth leading cause of cancer death in the UK, according to Cancer Research UK.
