“The police went to Ul. Rogozina in Radlin. In the part of the house belonging to an elderly man, a mummified body was discovered“, said Małgorzata Koniarska, spokesperson for the local police. “According to the DNA content, the mummified body is that of a woman, Jadwiga L., who died in January 2010, and therefore Marian L.’s mother.“, said Joanna Smorczewska, of the district attorney’s office, adding: “It has been established that the grave of Jadwiga L., where she was buried on January 16, 2010, remains empty“.
He dug up and mummified his mother’s body
According to the prosecutor’s office, Marian L. allegedly dug up his mother’s body right after his funeral. He then mummified it before installing it in his house since 2010. The bereaved son would have exhumed the body himself, especially since his home is located in only 300 meters from the cemetery where she was buried. He also made use of chemicals in order to preserve his body. In fact, authorities said her mother’s remains were in perfect state when discovered.
