The soap opera continues around the detention of Pierre Palmade. Involved in a violent road accident and tested positive for cocaine while driving, the comedian was imprisoned on February 27 by decision of the investigative chamber of the Paris Court of Appeal. The actor began his custody at the Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital before being transferred to a new establishment, the Marie-Lannelongue hospital in Plessis-Robinson, to undergo major surgery.
This Monday, March 6, 2023, the investigating judge in charge of this case decided to lift the provisional detention which weighs against the comedian. A decision justified by the state of health of the suspect according to the magistrate. This is an emergency procedure used by Jean-Michel Bourles, the public prosecutor of the Melun public prosecutor’s office, in order to avoid the immediate release of Pierre Palmade. As required by procedure, it is now up to the First President of the Court of Appeal to rule on this decision within 48 hours.

During this period, the comedian therefore remains in prison and under the supervision of a policeman at the door of his room during his period of hospitalization at Plessis-Robinson.. After the decision of the First President of the Court of Appeal, the investigating chamber of the Paris Court of Appeal will study this Friday, March 10 the appeal of the Melun prosecution on the decision of the investigating judge. As a reminder, Pierre Palmade was placed in pre-trial detention on February 27 due to the serious road accident in which he was involved and during which he tested positive for cocaine.
The facts occurred on February 10, 2023 and earned the comedian a first house arrest, under electronic bracelet in the hospital’s addiction service as well as a warrant of deposit. The Parisian judges agreed with the decision of the Melun public prosecutor’s office, considering the continued detention necessary in order to “prevent the renewal of the offense and preserve the investigations in progress”. Pierre Palmade therefore continues to receive treatment as part of his hospitalization and under police surveillance. The verdict concerning his continued detention must be pronounced this Friday.
