Renaud fans can be reassured. After experiencing several health issues, the singer is doing much better. Proof, moreover, according to The Parisian, he is preparing his big comeback. On May 6, in fact, the interpreter of Dans mon HLM will publish his new album, entitled metic. In this opus, which will be released a few days before his 70th birthday, Renaud takes up thirteen classics of French song, including the tube by George Moustaki which gives him his name. In this one, also Boby Lapointe, Françoise Hardy, Yves Montand, Bourvil, Jean Ferrat, Jacques Higelin, Serge Reggiani, Georges Brassens or even Hugues Aufray, as reported by Le Parisien. And Renaud has regained the hair of the beast!
“These new versions are faithful to the texts and the melodies, while being adventurous and modern”, assures a member of Renaud’s entourage to our colleagues. As for the singer’s voice, it’s good. “best”, “less rocky than on the previous album”, Kids and Kids first! released in 2019. On the other hand, his fans will not have the opportunity to find him on stage since he no longer intends to do concerts.. But Renaud will be honored, still according to Le Parisien. At the end of April or the beginning of May, France 2 should broadcast an evening in his honor, recorded at the Dôme de Paris, where he will be present! Last September, passing through Paris for an exhibition, Renaud gave his news.
Renaud: “I definitely stopped drinking”
“It’s okay, it’s holding up. I eliminated the fag, I went from sixty a day to fifteen. I am addicted to vaping. And I definitely quit alcohol six months ago. I am a new man. I just have a muscle problem in my back, which forces me to sit down regularly”confided the singer to the Parisian. He took advantage of his visit to Paris to reveal that he was working on an upcoming album, recorded at his home in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. “I’ve wanted to do this for years, he added. (…) I I’ll do a minimum of promotion, that’s all.” For fans of Renaud, the date of May 6 is therefore noted!
