(sda) The warning signal seems to have come at the right time for FC Winterthur. The promoted team in the Super League lost 6-0 against Lucerne just over a month ago, so there was widespread discussion about Zurich’s suitability for the top division. Since then, Bruno Berner’s team has not lost. After the away win in Sion (1:3) and the 0:0 in the derby against FCZ, FCW can set another exclamation mark against the other cantonal rivals. He won 1-0 on Saturday at home on the Schützenwiese. Samir Ramizi scored the golden goal of the game after 51 minutes. The midfielder completed a counterattack with a header after an exemplary cross from Souleymane Diaby.

Grasshoppers, without a win in four games, remained harmless on offense and Winterthur were closer to a second than the record champions equalized. Thanks to the victory, the first in their own stadium in the top division since 1985, Winterthur can at least temporarily distance Zurich by five points. The FCZ faces the difficult home game against leader YB on Sunday.

Goal scorer Ramizi provided an inglorious highlight after the final whistle. After being insulted by spectators, he pointed the finger at the stands. Referee Cibelli sanctioned the gesture with a red card. This means that the match winner will certainly not be available to FC Winterthur in the next game against Sion on Tuesday.
