HJC i71: a new full-face helmet homologated 22.06

HJC is continuing to renew its range of helmets, and is replacing one of its flagship models, the i70. Logically baptized i71, this full-face helmet complies with the new ECE 22.06 regulation, supposed to be more protective for motorcyclists, while bringing its share of developments.

The design is reworked with a more sporty profile, in particular via a discreet spoiler at the rear, while the ACS ventilation system evolves. A new air intake on the chin bar now complements the front intake and operates in three positions: closed, intermediate, open.

Three new polycarbonate composite shells make up this helmet. The EPS foams are multi-density for better shock absorption. They benefit from a specific CAD construction inside the helmet and the foams, in order to reduce the effects of floating at high speed. The removable and washable interior foams are made of a soft-touch antibacterial treated fabric. Grooves facilitate the passage of the branches of glasses.

Regarding the screen, the i71 is equipped with a Rapidfire type fixing system, to facilitate the handling of the screen without the need for tools. An automatic lock guarantees the correct positioning of the screen on the plates each time. A type 70 anti-fog screen, supplied by Pinlock and supplied as standard, covers almost the entire interior surface of the screen. A new lockdown push and release ensures a perfect seal between the screen and the gasket.

The good news also comes from the presence of an integrated retractable sun visor, with a control positioned at neck level. It is also adjustable to adapt to different morphologies. The sun visor can be advanced by 5 and 10 mm so as not to be in contact with the nose of the pilot. A system already seen on the new RPHA 71.

The i71 is compatible with the two SMARTHJC wireless communication kits (21B and 50B) supplied by Sena. This kit is integrated inside the helmet with two control plates positioned on the sides, and blends into the line of the helmet.

Weighing 1600 g in size M, it comes with a nose warmer, anti-swirl flap and a cover. It is available in the following colours: white, black, matt black, matt anthracite, matt titanium, nardo gray and matt white.
